Police are searching for whoever opened fire in a Clairemont neighborhood Monday morning.
Officers arrived at a home on Gila Avenue, south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and west of Clairemont Drive, at 11 a.m. Several shots were reported before two groups of people ran from the house and got into two different cars, according to police.
About 45 minutes later, two people came out of the home and were briefly detained but later released.
Police attempted to pull over a car driving away from the area, but the driver and passenger jumped out and ran off.
