SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are investigating a report of possible shots fired near a Point Loma school Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 7 a.m., some janitors working at Dana Middle School (1775 Chatsworth Blvd.) called police after they said they heard several pops and rustling through trees in the campus’ courtyard.
Responding officers conducted searches at the school and in the surrounding neighborhood, but whoever may have fired shots was nowhere to be found.
Police believe a pellet gun may have been fired, but the incident is still under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
There is no immediate word if anyone else besides the janitors were at the school at the time of the incident.
Dana Middle School’s first day of class is Monday, Aug. 27, according to the San Diego Unified School District 2018-19 calendar.
