SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect Tuesday they say threatened a woman with a gun in an hotel bathroom.
According to police, the incident happened in a bathroom at the Hilton on the 4200 block of Taylor Street in Old Town.
Police say the man threatened the woman with a semi-automatic gun.
Initially a man who matched that description was detained after a short foot chase. Police say he ran for unknown reasons but was quickly released when they determined he was not the attacker.
Authorities describe the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s who is five feet, eight inches tall, was wearing a gray shirt, tan pants, a light colored backpack and has short hair.
The suspect is wanted for brandishing a weapon, battery and assault with the attempt to commit a sexual offense.
