Police were able to recover a vehicle snatched by a shotgun-toting carjacker, who took the car from a patron at a popular bar in the Barrio Logan community of San Diego, a police officer said Sunday.
A 41-year-old man walking up to the Cabo Wabo Grill at 2994 Main St. was called over about 11:35 p.m. Saturday by the robber, who was loitering in the area, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.
The man displayed a shotgun from under his jacket when the victim walked up to him, Heims said. He then ordered the man to go to his car, where he pointed the shotgun at the man and told him to give him everything he had.
"After the suspect got the victim's property, he told him to get out of the car and leave the keys," Heims said. "The victim did as instructed and the suspect left with the victim's car."
Heims said a short time later the thief was found by police in Chula Vista.
There was no other immediate information.
