An apparent road rage incident erupted into a brawl in the middle of traffic in the San Carlos neighborhood of San Diego.

Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, John Schilling's friend Jimmy was approaching the intersection of Jackson Drive and Navajo Drive, when he did a double take.

“As he approaches the intersection turning left, there were two vehicles: a white car and a white SUV,” said Schilling.

Schilling says a man in the SUV jumped out and started yelling, prompting the man in the white car to do the same.

“It then turned into a full blown fight,” said Schilling.

Schilling says the fight didn't last long.

Jimmy watched as the driver of the car got back into this car, but the other guy apparently not ready for the showdown to be over.

“The big gentleman jumped on his hood and tried to stop him from driving off,” said Schilling.

Schilling says the man hung onto the hood for a good 20 feet before the car stopped and he got off.

By that time, Jimmy was leaving the area.

Schilling decided to post the stills on YouTube to send a message on road rage.

“People get enraged for the stupidest things. There's so much violence in the world. It’s nuts. This could have been lethal. It happens all the time. They need to think about it. People need to mellow out,” said Schilling.

10News reached out to police because witnesses saw officers questioning people at the scene. We're still waiting to hear if anyone was arrested.
