SAN DIEGO -- A passenger train struck and killed a pedestrian in the Midtown area today, authorities said.
The Coaster locomotive hit the victim, described only as male, in the 2100 block of West Washington Street about 10:45 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The accident forced a suspension of rail service in the vicinity through the late morning.
