One killed in La Mesa car crash

LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- One person died in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Fletcher Parkway and Jackson Drive Tuesday night.

When La Mesa Police officers arrived, they discovered that the driver of one of the vehicles had been ejected and was dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries and is expected to survive. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The investigation is being handled by the La Mesa Police Department Traffic Unit. At this time, there is no indication that either driver was intoxicated at the time of the collision.

The identification of the deceased driver is being withheld until family has been notified. The intersection will be closed for several hours while police continue their investigation.
