SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - At least 3 people are dead in separate crashes around San Diego County, marking a deadly start to the holiday weekend.
One person died in a crash involving two vehicles and a motorcycle on eastbound SR-94 just after Kelton Rd., according to California Highway Patrol.
A female driver reportedly crossed over all lanes and crashed into the center divider around 3:30 a.m. An Uber driver stopped to help the woman out of the crash and to the shoulder of the highway, before she crossed the highway to go back to her car for an unknown reason, according to CHP. A motorcyclist was splitting lanes just as she was outside of her car, when the cyclist struck her.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital with major leg injuries.
Multiple lanes were closed on SR-94, while one lane of traffic and the Kelton Rd. offramp remained open.

The second fatal collision occurred just before 4:30 a.m. on northbound I-5 near Cockleburr Rd. in Oceanside.
No lanes were closed as a result of that crash.
A third fatal crash also occured on SR-52 near Convoy St. just before 1 a.m.
No further information on the last two crashes was immediately released.
