Armed man arrested in Oceanside after search

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) – An armed man linked to a domestic violence incident was taken into custody after a search in an Oceanside neighborhood.

According to Oceanside police, officers responded to a domestic violence report in the 1400 block of Papin Street at about 9 a.m., but the man said to be involved in the incident drove away and was nowhere to be found.

After a two-hour search that prompted a police perimeter, the armed man was spotted in the backyard of a home in the 1700 block of Loretta Street and arrested. Officers recovered a firearm from the man during the arrest.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
