CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - On Friday afternoon, Timothy Cook was arraigned in court. The 52-year-old is facing one charge of first-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Omar Medina.

Medina’s body was found two months ago in an oil drum in the San Diego Bay. Cook pleaded not guilty. The judge denied bail for Cook.

A prosecutor said 38-year-old Derrick Spurgeon is accused of helping with the murder. He pleaded not guilty on Thursday. A judge set his bail at $500,000.

This week, new details emerged in Medina's death. Officials said he was stabbed a total of 66 times.
