PHOTOS: Valley Fire explodes in size in East County

The Valley Fire ignited off Spirit Trail and Japatul Road, just southeast of Alpine, just before 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020. Within hours, the fire had scorched about 500 acres.
