New Grocery Outlet store opens in San Diego's City Heights neighborhood

Posted

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A new grocery store opened in City Heights Thursday, and the owner is hoping the store will meet the needs of the neighborhood and provide new jobs for community members.

Grocery Outlet is opening a new store at 4360 54th Street, and it is independently owned and operated by San Diego native Kelly Meldrum.

Meldrum also happened to attend high school across the street from where his store is located.

Meldrum told 10News, "We offer great deals for people who don't have a lot of money. We offer great value; I think it's perfect for the community."

The store is opening in an area in which there are not many grocery store options available, and the store comes with the creation of more than 25 new jobs.
