SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Navy and Marine Corps military firefighters are assisting Cal Fire efforts to put out the Lilac Fire in North San Diego County.
The Merlins and Blackjacks squadrons hopped in their 60’s at NAS North Island Friday morning to travel to the fire.
A Camp Pendleton squadron called the Stingers are tapping into Lake O’Neill on base. The new Hueys can carry more than 300 gallons of water at a time.
