The Tampa Police Department is searching for a young man who was caught on camera doing a skateboard trick across a custom-painted car in Ybor City.

A spokesperson for the police department said the case is being investigated as a felony criminal mischief. Detectives would like to speak with Dalton Newbury as a person of interest.

According to those who have shared the video that's getting thousands of shares on Facebook, it was originally posted to Instagram by the skateboarder himself. The video has since been deleted from instagram. Tampa Police obtained the video and shared it on their YouTube page. Watch the video below:

The owner of the vehicle said her car is believed to be the only R8 in this color, she said the color "voodoo blue" is a custom paint color.

Tonya Halvorsrod said her husband has spent two decades to get what they call a dream car, "my husband calls it his other wife," she joked.

Halvorsrod tells us she was in Ybor City with her husband Saturday night around 9 p.m., but did not find out about the video until the next morning when different Audi owners from across the area recognized the rare blue plaint.

"I'm glad we didn't see it happen," she said, "when you work hard for something, I think you appreciate it that much more."

Halvorsrod also said she will need to have the hood of the car replaced due to this incident. Damage to the hood is reportedly over $4,000.

It appears at this time that Newbury may have been in town for a skating competition, but its unclear if he is still in the Tampa area. Tampa-based WFTS has been told Newbury posted the video himself, but it has since been deleted. His social media account for Instagram has more than 16,000 followers -- it has since been set to private.

No arrests have been made at this time.
