Self-driving trucks carrying U.S. postal mail will soon be on roadways from Phoenix to Dallas.
TuSimple, a startup based in San Diego, is the maker of the trucks that will haul mail to and from USPS facilities in the two cities, Reuters reports. There will be safety driver behind the wheel to intervene if needed.
An engineer will also ride in the truck's passenger seat, Reuters says. The testing of the autonomous trucks will involve five round trips, or 2,100 miles (around 45 hours) of driving.
The test will last two weeks, TuSimple said.
