Police searched a northern Nevada home on Monday, a home that authorities say the suspected gunman at a California food festival was staying in the days leading up to the mass shooting.

The 19-year-old suspect, Santino William Legan, snuck into the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California on Sunday and opened fire on a crowd of people, killing three and injuring 12 others.

Officials say the suspected shooter was a native of Gilroy area, but authorities say he was living in Nevada leading up to the shooting.

Sean Rowe, the district attorney for Mineral County, Nevada, confirmed that police searched the home in a statement. Read his entire statement below.

"In the early morning hours of July 29, 2019, Mineral County Sheriff's Deputies assisted agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in a search of a residence located in Walker Lake, Nevada. This residence is believed to have been used by the Gilroy, California, shooter during the days prior to the July 28th incident. Mineral County Sheriff Randy Adams stated that 'Mineral County Deputies supported FBI agents by obtaining a search warrant for a unit in a triplex located in at Walker Lake. As this is an ongoing investigation, we are not able to comment further at this time.'"

Walker Lake, Nevada is located about 5 hours northwest of Las Vegas and about six hours from the site of the Garlic Festival.

In addition, authorities revealed during a press conference Monday morning that Legan legally purchased an " "AK-47-type" rifle in Nevada on July 9. Authorities would not say where exactly in Nevada the gun was purchased.

A 6-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, and a man in his 20s were the three killed. The 12 injured people range in age from 12 to 69 years old.
