Sen. Bernie Sanders formally endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, during a live stream with Biden on Monday.
Sanders suspended his campaign last week but did not offer a full-throated endorsement of Biden at the time. He did say that Biden was a "good man," and repeatedly stressed that he hoped President Donald Trump would lose the general election in November.
Despite his endorsement of Biden, Sanders will remain on the ballot in the remaining primary elections. During an address last week, Sanders said he was remaining on the ballot in the hopes of pushing a more progressive Democratic party platform ahead of the general election.
We must come together to defeat the most dangerous president in modern history. I'm joining @JoeBiden's livestream with a special announcement. https://t.co/AC3zh3ChX3
