ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) - A man was arrested Tuesday after sheriff’s officials said he barged into a room occupied by several teens at an Encinitas hotel.
Deputies were called to the Days Inn at 133 Encinitas Boulevard at around 10:15 p.m. after receiving reports that an unidentified man broke into a room.
Sheriff’s officials told 10News that the man was staying in a room on the third floor and the teens, in town for a school field trip, were staying on the second floor.
According to officials, the man got into the room, but eventually jumped off the second story of the building and landed on the windshield of a car below.
He was taken into custody with visible injuries and transported to the hospital. Deputies said he will be mentally evaluated.
None of the high school students involved were injured.
