IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after he said a car driven by a Navy sailor slammed into him Thursday morning in Imperial Beach.

"I was screaming, but no sounds were coming out," Tim Hannan said of the crash on Palm Avenue. "I was in one lane, and he was in another, and he forced me out of my lane into another lane."

Hannah said he caught a glimpse of the driver -- a Navy sailor in uniform -- before he sped off.

"He was wearing a blue camouflage jumpsuit, and he was very clean cut," said Hannan.

He said the driver of the silver two-door car looked distracted.

"The fact that the guy was looking on his phone instead of driving and oblivious to everything, that's what shocked me the most," said Hannan.

Hannan told 10News the crash broke his leg, hand and clavicle. He also said his knee is shattered.

"I hope someone or somebody can persuade him to come forward so we can get this figured out and behind us," said Hannan.

Police said they are investigating the crash.

A GoFundMe account has been established to help Hannah pay for medical bills.
