OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon when he collided with a truck in Oceanside.

Around 3:20 p.m., Oceanside Police received calls of a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck in the 2100 block of Oceanside Blvd. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found a 34-year-old male not breathing. Despite life saving measures, the male rider died at the scene.

The crash happened as the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Oceanside Blvd and crossed through the intersection of Crouch St., according to police. At the same time, a Chevrolet truck was stopped in the center median of westbound Oceanside Blvd just east of the intersection with Crouch St.

As the motorcyclist approached the area of the truck, the truck made a left turn into a private business and the motorcyclist collided with the truck, police report.

The driver of the truck was interviewed on scene and released. Based on the early investigation, alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
