SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities Monday identified a 32-year-old motorcyclist who was struck and killed in the Barrio Logan area by a hit-and-run motorist who remains at large.
It happened shortly before 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the 1900 block of Main Street, San Diego Police Officer John Buttle said.
Aaron Raspberry of San Diego was riding his motorcycle northbound on Main Street when a silver BMW sedan made a left turn out of a parking lot and the victim's motorcycle collided with the driver's side of the car, according to police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Raspberry was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead three days later, the Medical Examiner's Office said. He was a city employee and a single father, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
The BMW likely has damage to the driver's side door, Buttle said.
No description was released of the motorist, who sped away southbound on Main Street.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call San Diego police at (619) 531-2000.
