Lifeguards Sunday said they found a motorcycle off the coast around Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach that reportedly was leaking oil into the ocean.
San Diego Police and San Diego Lifeguards responded to a report at 1:49 p.m. of a motorcycle spilling oil into the water at the popular ocean viewing spot.
Police said the motorcycle was reported stolen in mid-December and they believe it was dumped off the coast Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Lifeguards said the low tide exposed the motorcycle and someone reported it to them.
Police are now searching for the person who dumped it there.
Divers searched the water around where the motorcycle was found, but did not find anyone in the water.
