SAN DIEGO -- A motorcyclist led officers on a high-speed 33-mile chase Tuesday night that started in north San Diego County and ended when the suspect tried to ditch his bike and flee on foot in the neighborhood of Talmadge.

The incident began at around 11 p.m. north of Escondido, in the area of Deer Springs Road and Interstate 15, when California Highway Patrol officers tried to pull over a speeding motorcycle. It refused to stop and a chase ensued.

CHP officers, with the help of San Diego County Sheriff’s Department helicopters, tracked the motorcycle as it made its way south on Interstate 15 at speeds well over 100 miles per hour. The suspect eventually exited I-15 at Adams Avenue in Kensington.

The man parked the bike behind a home in the 4500 block of Talmadge Drive and tried to run away, but he was quickly caught by CHP officers. There were no injuries.

The man, who was not identified, was booked into the San Diego Jail. The charges he faces were not confirmed.
