OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Active-duty and retired military service members lined up for free gas at an Oceanside gas station Thursday morning, courtesy of GasBuddy.
As a way to thank veterans for their service ahead of Memorial Day, GasBuddy gave out $20 in free gas to military members who are GasBuddy app users.
The location of the gas station remained a secret until 7 a.m. Thursday morning, when GasBuddy announced on social media that the G&M station at 601 N. Coast Hwy. was the place to go.
GasBuddy has run the promotion in numerous cities across the country for the last few years, but it is the first free gas has been available for only active-duty or retired military members.
