SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Three San Diego military families are cutting their power bills thanks to new Palomar Solar systems.
The Palomar Solar Gives Back sweepstakes welcomed entires over the summer for a chance to win a system of up to 24 panels. Three finalists were randomly chosen and invited to the company’s runway chalet at the Miramar Air Show.
One of last year’s contest winners pulled the winning dog tags out of a bag to indicate three winners for this year: Adam Webber, Navy SEAL veteran, John Vojtas, Navy veteran, and Air Force veteran Carl Boeck.
The Palomar Solarsystems are designed to offset more than 110 percent of the previous year’s electricity needs. The company estimates the military families will save a combined $350,000 in electricity costs over the next 25 years.
Palomar Solar has been serving Southern California since 2009, including notable clients Goodwill San Diego and Waxie Sanitary Supplies.
