CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego County Medical Examiner identified Saturday the man who was struck and killed by a vehicle when he ran across lanes of Interstate 5 in Chula Vista.
Bryce Bussell, 22, was walking in the lanes of northbound of I-5 at Palomar St. Thursday just before 5 a.m. when he was struck.
The driver of a pickup truck said he suddenly saw Bussell in front of the truck and was unable to stop in time. Bussell died at the scene.
Officers said the driver called 911 and stopped at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol has not determined why Bussell was walking on the freeway.
