SAN DIEGO – Two strangers who entered a home in the College Area, prompting the homeowner to pull out a bat, were taken into custody early Tuesday morning.

According to San Diego police, sometime before 2:15 a.m. a family in the 6200 block of Rose Street awoke to find two men in their home. Unsure what their motives were, the homeowner asked them to leave and called 911. When the men reportedly refused to leave, the homeowner chased them out with a bat.

Eventually police responded and put both the homeowner and the two men into handcuffs while they worked to sort out the situation.

The men appeared intoxicated and may have simply wandered into the wrong house, police said.

No one was hurt. It was not immediately clear if the intruders would face any charges.
