CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Chula Vista man is warning others who sell expensive items on apps, such as LetGo, that thieves are also on the apps looking to steal what you are selling.
He knows. Al, who asked 10News to keep his last name private, posted an ad for a new Macbook Pro on the LetGo app.
Unfortunately, the person who called and said they wanted to buy it was a thief. When they met up on the patio of a busy coffee house, the thief grabbed the laptop and took off, Al told 10News.
He said he also saw a second man waiting outside the coffee house, and possibly a getaway driver waiting nearby.
