A 37-year-old man had his face slashed with a knife while fighting to fend off a robber in North Park early Wednesday, police said.
The suspect approached the victim in the vicinity of 32nd and Landis streets around 12:15 a.m. and demanded his bicycle, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
During a subsequent struggle over the bike and a duffel bag, the suspect pulled a knife and cut the victim above his eye, Delimitros said.
The suspect and a female companion ultimately got away, according to the officer.
