SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are investigating a shooting near Dave & Buster's restaurant in Mission Valley that broke out during an apparent drug deal.
According to San Diego police, the shooting was reported around 8:40 p.m. Sunday on Camino Del Rio North, across the street from the popular eatery/sports bar.
Police said a man and his girlfriend were meeting with a suspected drug dealer to possibly buy heroin when an altercation led to gunfire.
The victim was shot in the groin, and the bullet exited through his buttocks, police said.
The 28-year-old man was transported to the hospital with what was described as a non-life threatening injury, but surgery was required, according to police.
No other injuries were reported.
Police did not immediately release a description of the suspected shooter.
