CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man in Otay Ranch is warning others about extra charges on his debit card after going to the Arco gas station on East Palomar Street.

Ken Reynolds says he noticed the extra charges after trying to use his debit card inside the convenience store.

The Otay Ranch resident says the attendant told him the transaction failed twice, so he decided to pay in cash. When he got back to his car, Reynolds realized the transactions had in fact gone through.

The attendant gave him a refund, but then Reynolds noticed at least 10 additional double charges on his bank statement. The charges all within the last month and a half.

Reynolds decided to warn others about what happened on the Nextdoor App. At least three other people responded to his post to tell him that the same thing happened to them.

10News reached out to the Arco and the manager told us they were not aware of the issue. They referred us to Arco Corporate, who have not returned our calls or emails.

Reynolds says he called his bank and filed a fraud claim. The bank is still investigating. He wants others to be alert and check their bank statements regularly.
