SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was taken into custody Monday evening after reportedly dousing a woman with gasoline and trying to set her on fire on Fiesta Island.
Police say the woman went into the water and, when she emerged, the man, identified as Miles Chapin, grabbed the 46-year-old woman and doused her with gasoline.
Chapin then reportedly lit a lighter before the woman was able to pull away from him. Chapin fled the scene, which led to an extensive search of the area.
Video captured by Sky10 shows police entering an RV and searching the scene.
The woman was uninjured in the attack. Chapin was taken into custody and is being charged with attempted homicide.
