SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man crossing a Pacific Beach street to catch his rideshare was hit by an oncoming car, San Diego police said Friday.

The incident happened at around 2 a.m. as the man crossed the street in the 1400 block of Garnet Avenue.

Police said the 25-year-old man tried crossing Garnet Avenue from the south curb to the north curb to get to an Uber vehicle when a 2005 Infiniti traveling westbound struck him.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening head injuries.

The Infiniti’s 35-year-old driver, who remained at the scene after the collision, was not hurt.

Police said the Traffic Division is handling the investigation. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, police said.
