SAN DIEGO (KGTV) --A San Carlos woman is warning others after someone through a brick through her window on the 6000 block of Winding Creek Drive.

Leticia Rodriguez says she filed a police report and was surprised when police told her she wasn't the only victim.

“There was a homeless person in the neighborhood committing these crimes, breaking windows,” she said.

The brick was part of a contraption she rigged up to catch rats around her yard. She believes whoever broke her window saw it and seized the opportunity to vandalize her home.

“It was a double plated bay window, and they must have been standing pretty close to our window because they threw it with quite a bit of force and broke an enormous hole and the brick flew all the way across the room,” Rodriguez said.

She said police told her they had an idea of who the homeless man is, so she hopes they catch him soon.

“We’ve lived in this house for 24 years, and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened,” she said. "It was kind of scary, why would someone be so aggressive?”
