Man accused of attacking group with bamboo pole at Seaport Village

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A man was arrested after police said he attacked a group of people with a bamboo pole in front of a restaurant at Seaport Village.

San Diego Harbor Police said the incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in front of Sally's Fish House & Bar at 1 Market Place.

Witnesses said an unidentified man was acting erratically and yelling when he suddenly struck at least four people with the pole, including an elderly woman.

There is no word on the nature and severity of the victims' injuries.

Responding Harbor Police officers confronted the man and took him into custody after placing a spit bag over his head.
