RANCHO PENASQUITOS, Calif. (KGTV) - Residents in a low-income housing complex have until Sunday, July 15 to move out.

The Penasquitos Village Apartment complex will soon be bulldozed to make way for an upscale apartment complex with 600 new units.

Despite the impending evictions, several residents remain at the complex who have been unable to find housing accommodations.

The management company, Atlantic Pacific, released a statement saying:

"Our team worked very closely with tenants, the local Church, and Rancho Penasquitos community members to develop a robust and generous relocation program, which was approved by the San Diego City Council earlier this year. We are proud to report the program has been a huge success. We have helped nearly 300 families find new homes, including every single Section 8 tenant at PQ Village.”
