Making It In San Diego: Report shows what San Diego renters expect for their money

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Prices to rent an apartment or house in San Diego keep going up, and along with rising rents are rising expectations.

A new report from Apartments.com shows what San Diego renters expect to get for the cash they dish out.

The real estate site reports that the top five amenities searched include washer and dryer, dog friendly, air conditioning, parking and dishwasher.

The top five keywords searched are garage, loft, fireplace, patio and hardwood floors.

Renters in America’s Finest City are also looking for luxury, according to the site, with 33 percent of renters looking for units that cost more than $1,600.

According to the site, 67 percent of San Diego renters hope to find a one or two bedroom unit while 46 percent require between two and three bathrooms.

The site also reports that the most sought-after neighborhoods are Tierrasanta, Allied Gardens, Serra Mesa, Del Cerro and Kensington.
