SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Dozens of single parents graduated from a program set up to change the lives of low-income, single parents in San Diego.

A total of 49 single parents were honored for completing this year’s “Power of One” program through the San Diego Housing Commission.

All the participants already receive federal housing dollars and are looking to take the next step in their lives.

The program helps them learn skills and provides resources to find jobs, increase their incomes and budgets, all with the eventual goal of making them more self-sufficient.

The program just finished its second year.
