SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman suffered a fractured skull after she was riding on a motorized scooter and lost control in Ocean Beach Sunday.
The 27-year-old woman was riding a Bird scooter around 3:30 p.m. on Cape May Ave., according to San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.
Police say the woman lost control of the scooter after hitting a crack in the sidewalk, launching her over the handlebars, and then hit her head on the sidewalk. The woman suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed, Buttle said.
She was transported to the hospital with those life-threatening injuries.
No one else was injured.
