Woman carjacked in parking lot of Fashion Valley Mall, threatened with knife

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are searching for a man suspected of carjacking a woman at Fashion Valley Mall Monday afternoon.

According to San Diego police, the incident happened just before 2 p.m. in the JCPenney’s parking lot, located on the west side of the mall.

Police said a 57-year-old woman was walking to her car when a man approached her from behind. According to police, the man held a knife to the woman’s neck and demanded her wallet and keys.

After the victim handed over the items, the man drove away in her car. The woman’s vehicle is a white 2017 four-door Nissan Sentra with California license plate 8HQW040.

The vehicle was last seen heading southbound on Fashion Valley Road.

The suspected carjacker is described as Hispanic, 30-35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with brown hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
