SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Water from a broken main caused damage to several homes and forced the closure of streets in Normal Heights Monday morning.
San Diego water officials said a 10-inch cast-iron main broke at around 4 a.m. in the 4700 block of Hawley Boulevard, near Adams Avenue, causing water to come out from several different areas on the street.
The break sent water gushing into several homes and flooded nearby streets, forcing city crews to block the area for repairs.
Water was shut down shortly before 7 a.m.
City water officials reported about 30 customers were left without service. Service was expected to be restored by 5:30 p.m.
