SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of Best Hospitals in San Diego has Scripps La Jolla Hospitals (Scripps Green and Scripps Memorial La Jolla) ranked first for the third straight year.

In the list published on July 30, 2019, Scripps La Jolla Hospitals were not only named the best hospitals in the San Diego region for 2019-20, but the hospitals were also among the 57 best hospitals in the nation when it comes to the handling of nine specific surgical procedures and chronic conditions (colon cancer surgery, lung cancer surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, heart bypass surgery, aortic valve surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, knee replacement and hip replacement).

Chris Van Gorder, president and CEO of Scripps Health, said, “Ranking No. 1 in San Diego and among the best in the nation, repeatedly, is a great honor and a testament to the highest-quality patient care and expertise provided by our hardworking physicians, nurses and staff. While such recognition is celebrated by everyone here at Scripps, our patients are the real winners because they can take comfort in and benefit from access to outstanding health care right here in San Diego County.”
