SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Authorities are investigating break-ins at two North County gas stations in which thousands of dollars in e-cigarettes and other tobacco products were stolen.
A manager at the Chevron station at 16757 Bernardo Center Drive told 10News a break-in occurred at his station at around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
The manager said several masked men smashed a door to the station’s store and raided a display behind the counter. The group grabbed about $15,000 in vape pens and accessories and then left in a white truck, the manager said.
Less than 20 minutes after the Rancho Bernardo break-in, sheriff’s deputies received a report of a break-in at a Chevron station at 27936 Valley Center Road in Valley Center.
10News learned a group of men used a rock to break a window at the Valley Center station and stole thousands of dollars of e-cigarettes and tobacco products.
Authorities are looking into the possibility the break-ins were carried out by the same group.
A detailed description of the thieves was not immediately released.
No injuries were reported.
