SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person is dead after a stabbing in the Grant Hill neighborhood Friday evening.
Authorities say they received multiple reports of an altercation around 4:46 p.m. at the corner of 27th and L Streets. Officers found the victim suffering from at least one stab wound and head trauma upon arrival.
The 36-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital and had CPR performed but did not survive, according to police officials. His name has not yet been released.
Police say the two suspects, a father and son, were arrested at the scene. The 37-year-old father, Emilio Torres Valencia, was also taken to a local hospital for injuries received during the altercation before being booked into County Jail. His 17-year-old son was taken to Juvenile Hall.
San Diego homicide detectives say the altercation started because of a vandalism incident that happened the month prior. The suspect's vehicle was vandalized with a rock and bat before being crashed into a power pole.
The victim's 15-year-old son was also questioned by police but ultimately released to his mother. He is not facing any charges at this time.
Detectives are further investigating the incident and processing the scene for physical evidence. Anyone with information is urged to call the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
