CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — More than one year after a South Bay teen was fatally stabbed at a party, investigators are asking the public for help once again to find those responsible.
On Jan. 31, 2020, 15-year-old Devin Griffiths was attending a birthday party at about 10:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Maria Way in Chula Vista. According to attendees at the party, two teenagers began to fight and the altercation eventually moved into the street.
During the fight, Griffiths, who was not initially involved, tried to help a friend being attacked by several young men, Chula Vista Police said. After he jumped in, he was stabbed multiple times in his upper body.
Griffiths stumbled away and fell to the ground. He was taken to UCSD Medical Center with critical injuries. On Feb. 16, he died of his injuries.
