SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for three people they believe are responsible for robberies at several San Diego County 7-Eleven stores.
At around 11 p.m. Tuesday, La Mesa police were called to a 7-Eleven store in the 7600 block of University Avenue in response to a reported robbery.
Police said three young men wearing masks and hoodies robbed the store and then fled the scene.
About an hour later, San Diego police said armed men wearing masks and hoodies robbed a 7-Eleven in the 6400 block of Mission Gorge Road in Grantville. The men took an unknown amount of cash and ran off.
As the investigation into the Grantville incident began, authorities received a report that the La Mesa 7-Eleven that was robbed earlier in the night was hit again -- this time, however, the robbers assaulted the clerk and stole his iPhone.
10News learned the clerk was taken to the hospital for treatment.
During the investigation into the second La Mesa store robbery, authorities received a report of a robbery at a 7-Eleven store on Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley, with the robbers matching the description of the group involved in the previous incidents.
Investigators are at each store in hopes of finding clues to identify the robbers.
