SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego's dancing nurse is answering another call to duty in Texas.

Ana Wilkinson has responded to nursing shortages in New York City and in Texas. She returned to Texas to work in crowded COVID-19 wings on Tuesday.

ABC 10News started following Wilkinson's journey in April when she canceled a family trip to Disneyland to fly to NYC. Her firefighter-husband and two sons supported her passion to help others during the pandemic.

But this time she returned to Texas for a second stint as a COVID-19 survivor. Wilkinson has been home recovering from the coronavirus for the last month. She said she doesn’t know exactly when or where she got the virus, but in early December, she said her firefighter husband was potentially exposed at work.

She intends to pursue her passion for medical missions with plans to travel all over the world later this year.
