(KGTV) -- With many stores around San Diego County struggling to keep their shelves stocked, more people are traveling to Mexico to find what they need.

10News cameras were in San Ysidro Tuesday and spotted several people returning from Tijuana with grocery bags in hand.

One woman told 10News the scene in Tijuana is similar to what is going on in San Diego and around the U.S. -- long lines of people trying to stock up on toilet paper and paper towels.

10News’ media partner in Mexico, Televisa, reported that stores in Tijuana are running out of items such as hand sanitizer and face masks.

Tijuana officials said people on both sides of the border have been stocking up on vitamins and bottled water.
