SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police are investigating a shooting in the Alta Vista neighborhood that left a man dead.
On Wednesday, at around 10:36 p.m., police said the gunfire detection system ShotSpotter reported shots fired in the area of the 6200 block of Varney Drive. Police then received a call reporting one person had been shot.
Responding officers arrived at the scene to find a 42-year-old Black man in a trailer in the driveway of a home with at least one apparent gunshot wound.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was declared dead at the scene.
As of Thursday afternoon, police did not have information on a suspected shooter and the circumstances that led to the gunfire.
