SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for the driver who struck a bicyclist in Mira Mesa this month and fled.

The driver was making a right turn on Gold Coast Dr. from Camino Ruiz on Dec. 26 just before 1 p.m., as a bicyclist was in the crosswalk, police said. The driver's truck collided with the 70-year-old man on the bike, before the driver fled southbound on Ambassador Ave.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken right femur, according to SDPD.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a white colored 1997-2000 Toyota Tacoma with a camper shell. The vehicle will have front-end damage, police added.

Anyone with information is asked to call SDPD’s Traffic Division at 858-495-7807 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
